Child Find Services
To access Child Find through FCCPS, families must reside in Falls Church City.
Child Find is an opportunity for families to express concerns they may have for their child who is ages 3-5 years old. An intake appointment will be provided if parents have concerns about their child's development in speech and language, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, social-emotional, self-help skills, or other areas. The intake is used to determine if further intervention or evaluation may be appropriate.
Parents of children ages 0-3 should contact the Infant and Toddler Connection of Fairfax-Falls Church at 703-246-7121. For children ages 3-5 who reside in Falls Church City, parents should complete the child intake form by using the link on this page.
Children who are identified as eligible for special education services after their Child Find screening and evaluation may receive services through Falls Church City Public Schools. To receive services through Falls Church City Public Schools, children must be two years old by September 30th of the current school year to attend Jessie Thackrey Preschool.
For information about typical preschool development, please see Virginia's Early Learning and Development Standards.
