Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) Information

The Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) is a program that provides a quality early childhood education for children who are at risk.

All applications received during the application window are placed together in one group and considered first for enrollment. Applications received after the application window are placed in a separate group and only considered if there is availability.

Beginning in the spring, the waiting list is reviewed and children are accepted based on meeting the eligibility requirements according to the federal poverty guidelines and set enrollment criteria.

Priority is given to families at the lowest income levels.

Completing an application does not guarantee your child's acceptance. All families must submit the required eligibility documents.
